 Here at the Rustic wood Barn we are very passionate about yes you have guessed.. WOOD! 

Based in Brington, Cambridgeshire and with a background in forestry and Tree Surgery in the family we decided in the summer of 2020 during lockdown to start milling our own timber and sell direct to the customer. In November we opened up a display barn for customers to come and visit us to see what we have available.

All of our timber is sourced within 30 miles of our yard and the whole process from the felling, milling, drying to selling is carried out by ourselves. We work with local woodland owners through government schemes to provide sustainable forestry management. Sustainable forestry is about caring and managing woodlands for the future by maintaining long term forestry plans.

 With managing and conserving for woodlands in this way it keeps them healthy for future generations by it creating cleaner air, enhancing wildlife habitats, maintaining water quality, improving soil productivity, recreational activities and wood production improvement. 

This therefore makes all the wood we sell sustainable. 

We offer a variety of woods including Oak, Elm, Ash, Cherry, Yew, Pine, Cedar and walnut
We have all sorts of beautiful pieces available in all sizes from small coasters up to large slabs. Most of the timber is completely natural with live Waney edges, however we do also offer square edge. None of the Timber has been treated, leaving the customer to finish the wood to their desired look. 

The timber is dry, ready to work with and between a moisture content of 8-15% depending on each piece.

The trunks are seasoned for 2-3 years, Milled into slabs and air dried for 6-12 months then finished in the kiln.

We offer Rough sawn and Planed Timber. We can also sand and finish your project for you. We offer a cutting to size service.

As well as the timber planks, Jonathan runs a Tree Surgery Business "Manor Farm Tree Surgery"
